The cost of a drone repair depends on the model, the type of damage, the components involved and the amount of diagnostic and repair work required. At Hunde Labs, our typical drone repair is approximately €70–€100, although simple repairs can cost less and complex repairs can cost significantly more.

Our pricing table provides starting prices for common repairs, including diagnostics, firmware and configuration work, motor and ESC replacement, flight-controller repairs, GPS and sensor work, gimbal repairs, port repairs and crash damage.

For example, FPV drone repairs involving components such as motors, ESCs, flight controllers or GPS modules are generally less expensive than repairs to integrated commercial drones. DJI, Autel, Skydio and Parrot drones may require more specialized disassembly, proprietary components or complete assemblies, which can increase the repair cost.

Replacement parts are quoted separately, and we will explain the expected cost before proceeding with an approved repair.

Not always. The choice depends on the specific component being replaced, the customer’s budget, and availability. Many repairs successfully use high-quality third-party parts for non-critical elements, balancing cost and performance.

If you decide to ship your device to us, a shipping fee will be included in your quote. Ship and return fees are included. We’ll provide packing and address details upon quote confirmation.

If a repair isn’t possible or cost-effective, we’ll inform you.

Yes, we can assess legacy drones such as the DJI FPV, but parts availability can make older drone repairs more difficult.

For discontinued or older models, including older DJI, Autel, Parrot and other commercial drones, replacement motors, ESCs, flight-controller boards, gimbal components, cameras, shells and other proprietary parts may no longer be readily available.

We will first evaluate the drone and determine whether the required components can realistically be sourced. If parts are unavailable or the repair is unlikely to be economically practical, we will let you know before accepting the repair.

This approach also applies to older FPV systems where a particular flight controller, ESC, VTX, receiver or other component has been discontinued.

Sometimes. Water damage does not automatically mean that a drone is beyond repair, but the chances of successful repair depend heavily on the type of liquid, how long the drone remained exposed, whether it was powered on while wet and how much corrosion has developed.

Water or moisture can damage:

If your drone has been exposed to water, do not power it on to see if it still works. Additional electrical damage can occur when power is applied to a wet or contaminated circuit.

Bring the drone to us for an assessment. We can inspect the affected electronics and determine whether cleaning, component replacement, board-level repair or a more extensive repair is practical.

Drone repair turnaround depends on the fault, the drone model, parts availability and the complexity of the repair. Simple configuration or component repairs can often be completed faster than complex crash damage, gimbal repairs or board-level electronics work. A typical repair process is:

Diagnostic inspection — We identify the likely cause of the problem.

Repair assessment — We determine what components or work are required.

Approval — We provide the expected repair cost before proceeding.

Repair — We carry out the approved work.

Testing — We verify that the reported problem has been addressed.

Return or collection — The repaired drone is ready for you.

We do not promise an unrealistic turnaround time before seeing the drone. If replacement parts need to be ordered, particularly for DJI, Autel, Skydio, Parrot or legacy drone models, the parts lead time can affect the total repair time.

Only send accessories that are necessary to diagnose or reproduce the problem.

Depending on the repair, this may include:

The remote controller, if the problem involves communication or pairing

Do not send expensive accessories unless we specifically request them.

For a DJI Mavic, Matrice, FlyCart or similar commercial/Entreprise drone, we will let you know if the remote controller, battery, charger or other equipment is necessary for diagnosis.

For an FPV drone using Betaflight or ArduPilot, configuration backups and flight logs can sometimes be more useful than sending additional accessories.

Repair is not always the best economic decision.

Replacement may make more sense when the drone has extensive structural and electronic damage, critical proprietary components are unavailable, or the repair cost approaches the value of a comparable replacement drone.

For example, a heavily crashed commercial drone may require a frame, gimbal, camera, motors, ESCs and main electronics. In that situation, repairing every damaged subsystem may not be economically sensible.

For older DJI, Autel, Skydio or Parrot models, parts availability is an especially important consideration.

Generally, gimbal and camera repairs are more difficult than basic drone repairs and are not always suitable for DIY work.

A modern commercial drone gimbal can contain precision mechanical components, flex cables, motors, position sensors and camera electronics. A seemingly minor physical problem can therefore require calibration or replacement of an entire assembly.

This is particularly relevant to drones such as DJI Mavic, DJI Matrice, Autel and other camera-equipped commercial platforms.

If your drone has:

  • A camera that does not initialize

We recommend having the system assessed before attempting to disassemble it.

For a simple FPV frame, yes, replacing a damaged arm or frame component can often be a straightforward repair if you have the correct replacement parts and tools.

Commercial drones can be different.

A broken arm or shell on a DJI, Autel, Skydio or Parrot drone may involve:

For newer or more complex DJI aircraft, such as the DJI Mavic 4, DJI Matrice 4T, Matrice 4E and DJI FlyCart 30, the repair may involve integrated electronics, gimbals, sensors, proprietary assemblies or specialized components. DJI officially identifies the Matrice 4 Series as including the Matrice 4T and Matrice 4E.

Yes, we can assess DJI Matrice enterprise drones and determine whether a repair is practical.

Depending on the model, this may include systems such as the DJI Matrice 4T, Matrice 4E, Matrice 30/30T, Matrice 300 RTK, Matrice 350 RTK and other Matrice platforms, subject to parts availability and the specific fault.

Enterprise drones can contain more complex camera, thermal, GPS/RTK, gimbal and payload systems than consumer drones, so the diagnostic process may be more involved.

For example, the DJI Matrice 4T combines wide-angle, telephoto, thermal imaging, laser rangefinding and other sensing hardware, meaning a reported “camera problem” may require more detailed diagnosis than a simple lens replacement.

We can assess DJI FlyCart systems, including the DJI FlyCart 30, depending on the fault and availability of replacement components.

Delivery drones such as the FlyCart can have different repair requirements from smaller camera drones because of their larger propulsion systems, motors, ESCs, structural components and payload systems.
